The Information You Need to Succeed
THE WORKERS AND VOICES HERE WHO PROVIDE THE CONNECTION TO THE PEOPLE AND BUSINESSES FOR YOUR SUCCESS.
Kathy Hobstetter, Executive Director: Being born and raised on a cattle/quarter horse ranch in Colorado, and coming to California in the 60's, I got my first introduction to 'real' showjumping in Los Angeles. On the ranch we simply jumped anything in front of us including cactus and fallen trees. In a western saddle was the only way because that is all we had. It was a great way to grow up but seeing my first show jumping event changed the course of my life. I had always wanted to be a high school art teacher and have 8 kids BUT all that changed by falling in love with jumping horses.
Shari McCarty: Growing up in Southern California, I never was a big part of horse shows but I lived on the rail and listened. I learned a lot and I remember every word of it. It is a captivating sport, the horses are mesmerizing and the riders are my idols...hopefully through this web site/blog I will get to meet some of them in person to write stories and adventures following them on a different level now.
Stacey Owens: A childhood of showing horses developed into a lifetime love of owning show horses and then into the movie industry. Spending several decades as a movie producer and production director, Stacey now resides in Atlanta, Georgia with a husband, a son and the three horses she bred and raised and is now showing. A passion for detail coupled with a 'get it done now' attitude adds a unique understanding of the horse business.
Steven Randall: Randy was raised in Santa Barbara, CA and worked for many years at the Santa Barbara Earl Warren Showgrounds. An integral part of the success of that facility in the 60's, 70's, 80' and 90's, an injury took him off the tractor and into the office. Working the equestrian website development industry for many, many horseman, his life embraced the alternate track. Combining a love of the horse with years of experience in the industry, Randy brings a wealth of knowledge and opinions to Show Jumping USA.
Samantha Orlando: After a successful show career, she ended up spending her entire young adult years in New York in the fashion industry. When Samantha returned home to California to care for her parents as they aged, a new show horse breeding love blossomed. Now living in Southern California she has a keen sense of fashion and the knowledge and experience of what keeps horse people stylish. Her expertise is an asset to iAssist.
Cheryl Watson: A working photo journalist, Cheryl now enjoys a late in life marriage and living at the beach. Giving up horse ownership, she now has "the most wonderful hobby in the world - snapping pictures of show horses!" An eye for the balance and magic of jumping horses and the people who love them, she brings beautiful snap shots of the sport to our pages.
James Kilpatrick: The only experience with horses James has is flipping through every horse magazine and book he could get his hands on. Raised in South Detroit he longed for any information he could get about this mystical creature. Suffering a sport accident when he was young left James with severe physical handicaps which gives him a unique perspective of sports and the athlete and physical limitations. His commitment to facing life with smiles and joy in spite of restrictions, is an inspiration to all of us. Show Jumping Lifestyle is filled with gratitude that he has chosen us to share his gifts with...and that includes his enormous humor.
